“Design EP” is an EP by The Ohayogozaimas, released on September 5, 2018.

The album features three tracks which were released as singles, and three which are exclusive to this release. Do It Seriously remains in the band's setlist as the most frequently and still performed song in their live performances.

The first song written and recorded for Design EP was their cover of Utada Hikaru's song “Wait & See ~Risk~”, released in March of 2018. The second song written was “Do It Seriously” in May, as seen in a video posted on twitter, and soon after released in July. Also in July, a clip released on twitter shows Nagi showing off a riff used for World Without Design. A trailer for the album was released on twitter a few days after the previous clip, showing that all songs for the release was complete. In August, they released their final single of the EP, “Mockumentary Of Tokyo”.

Design EP display in Tower Records Kintetsu Pass'e store located in Nagoya.

This is also the second release of The Ohayogozaimas to be sold nation-wide in Village Vanguard and Tower Records stores. Prior to release, the track Do It Seriously was released as a standalone single on streaming services.

The EP takes The Ohayogozaimas' electronic focused sound to further integration, save for the short EP exclusive track, Before It Becomes Easy. This track features Utsu-P singing the chorus of the song. The track World Without Design features some clever songwriting tricks as it's in C# standard tuning for the majority of the track, before returning to the band's usual drop B tuning during the bridge section. This is also the first Utsu-P track to feature acoustic guitar. The 5th track, Plant's Big Laugh feels like an unconventional track compared to Utsu-P's usual style, the breakdown section and title references the opening theme for Dorifu Daibakushou, a Japanese talk show.

The first single, Wait & See ~Risk~ was released on YouTube in March, the music video is shot in the style of an amateur full band cover video one might find on YouTube. The second music video was Do It Seriously which was directed by THINGS.. The music video shows an office worker going crazy at his job, and seeing the coworkers surrounding him do increasingly bizarre things starting with having tattoos, and ending with blowing bubbles around their head with bubble gum. The final music video, for the track Mockumentary of Tokyo was created by karekitsune. It's a lyric video with elaborate computer generated effects and visuals.
